The Barrington School
Where learning begins.
Why we invested in The Barrington School.
We invested in The Barrington School because early childhood is the highest-leverage moment in a person's life, and the people running Barrington take that seriously in a way most early-childhood operators don't. Excellent teachers. Curriculum grounded in what actually works. A room a child walks into and wants to be in.
The people running Barrington operate from a clear standard: the room is the product. Not the branding, not the amenities, not the marketing. The teacher ratio, the curriculum pacing, the physical environment, and the relationships with parents. Those are the things that determine whether a child's first five years compound into a foundation that serves them for life.
This was a direct investment. The kind of patient capital that can measure success by outcomes decades from now instead of quarterly metrics. Barrington is an anchor in our Early Childhood Education focus area for reasons we'll keep backing.
What we expect from the partnership, over time, is the steady, un-flashy work of extending excellent early childhood to more children and more families. Always with the room as the measure.
About The Barrington School.
The Barrington School is a network of early childhood education centers designed around a single question: is this the place we'd want a four-year-old to spend their day? The answer lives in the details. Teachers who stay, curriculum that adapts, facilities that feel like home, and parent relationships that compound into trust earned over years.
We are a direct investor in the school, and we approach the partnership the way we approach our real estate: with patience and an owner's standard. The business of early childhood is operationally heavy, teacher development, facility design, parent communication, curriculum continuity, and the operators who get it right are the ones who treat each of those disciplines as a product decision rather than a cost center.
Barrington treats them that way. That's why we invested, and it's why we stay.
