Mustang & Mustard was built on a simple conviction: we invest as if we had to own it for life. That standard drives every decision we make, even if we don't hold forever. We invest our family's capital with an owner's mindset built for the long arc.

When we write a check, it's our family's money on the line, and our time, judgment, and relationships on the other side of it. We invest in companies we believe in and, wherever possible, use ourselves. People first. Always.

What we believe.

People first, businesses second

Talent compounds in ways spreadsheets never quite capture. We back the people we'd want to work for, and we build the business with them. We watched California Naturals before writing the Seed check, and we've written at every round since.

Patience, then decisive action

We hold with patience and act with decisiveness when the moment calls for it. Good timing is earned by not confusing motion with progress. We've held real estate positions in Columbus for decades. We move fast when speed serves the company, and patient when it doesn't.

Real problems, not trends

We back ideas that solve real problems, not trends dressed up as categories. Durability outlasts narrative. We've passed on more AI deals than we've backed. Figure AI, Scout AI, Hark Labs, and Radar passed our bar because the technology is load-bearing, not decorative.
